Core RE

Every student in our Sixth Form has one lesson of Core RE over the two week timetable. Core RE allows students to explore modern day issues and current affairs in the world; whilst understanding how religion can have an influence and impact on these issues. Students will study 6 topics throughout the course, each of which aim to answer one of life’s big questions.

Creation & Covenant - What is the meaning of life?
Prophecy & Promise - Why do people have faith?
Galilee to Jerusalem - Who was Jesus?
Desert to Garden - How can God exist in a world of suffering?
To the Ends of the Earth - Is there a life after death?
Dialogue and Encounter - Where do I stand?

As this is a spiral curriculum students will study the same topics in Year 13 but in greater depth, looking at different global issues and examples that are relevant to their lives.
