Year 10:
Component 1: Exploring the Performing Arts
- Study the work of various practitioners and the methods they use to create performances.
- Understand how different elements of a performance come together.
- Engage in practical workshops to explore creative processes and create a portfolio of coursework.
Component 2: Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance
- Enhance your performance skills through hands-on workshops.
- Apply these skills in rehearsals and showcase your work in an annual Drama Showcase.
- Reflect on your progress and performance through written evaluations.
Year 11:
Component 3: Responding to a Brief
- Learn how to interpret and respond to a creative brief.
- Collaborate with peers to develop your own theatrical piece based on the brief.
- Refine and apply your skills in a workshop setting, and evaluate the process and outcome.
This course will not only expand your artistic abilities but also give you a clear view of the many pathways available in the performing arts field while also building you transferable skills needed in any profession.
