Thornleigh Salesian College Awarded Centre of Excellence in Inclusion
We are delighted to announce that Thornleigh Salesian College has been awarded the prestigious Inclusion Quality Mark's (IQM) Inclusive School Award, recognising our dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
This accolade is a reflection of the school’s deep-rooted Salesian values, inspired by the teachings of Saint John Bosco, and our unwavering commitment to ensuring every student feels valued and cared for.
The IQM report praised the strong relationships between students and staff, noting the atmosphere of mutual respect and care that was evident throughout the school. This sense of belonging was particularly highlighted during the assessor’s visit, where the welcoming and inclusive nature of the school stood out.
Our curriculum has also been commended for its careful design to meet the diverse needs of all students, with a special focus on those with additional learning requirements. In addition, our wide range of extracurricular activities and trips, both locally and internationally, are widely appreciated by students. Thanks to funding from the Turing Scheme, disadvantaged students have been able to access these valuable opportunities for personal growth.
This award reinforces our commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported. Our ambition is to continue building on this success, ensuring that all students, regardless of their background or needs, have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.
